CENGN – Canada’s Centre of Excellence in Next Generation Networks
Tehama helps facilitate technology innovation with secure, compliant, easily scalable and enterprise-ready virtual desktops.
Problem
CENGN, Canada’s Centre of Excellence in Next Generation Networks, is a not-for-profit whose mission is to drive Canadian technology innovation and industry growth by providing their infrastructure as a Testbed for the country’s tech startups and scaleups. To facilitate the increasing amount of remote work on behalf of the organization and their clients, CENGN needed a secure, compliant, easy-to-implement Desktop as a Service (DaaS) solution able to scale users up and down quickly. The organization also required a platform that can be accessed from anywhere with high performance and low latency. Because most CENGN projects deal with valuable IP and generally last a few weeks to a few months – usually involving technology clients who need to move fast – it was especially important to be able to onboard staff and clients quickly, compliantly, and securely without requiring users to learn a complicated system.
Solution
CENGN chose Tehama’s next-generation DaaS offering thanks in part to its ability to onboard staff and clients – and get them productive – in less than an hour. Tehama’s ultra-low latency, high-performance virtual workrooms and desktops feature SOC 2 Type II end-user compute environments (either Windows or Linux), allowing CENGN’s remote staff and clients to get up and running quickly and compliantly even with demanding high performance computing (HPC) workloads. Built-in zero-trust network and endpoint isolation, segmented network access, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and a secure channel between endpoints and the network provides the security required by technology companies working with sensitive IP.
