I recently appeared in Episode 5 of The Attic, a YouTube-based podcast series of expert conversations, hosted by IGEL CEO, Jed Ayres. The series is inspired by IGEL’s own unique founding story, which began in a small attic in Bremen, Germany.
During the lively and informative conversation, I shared Tehama’s founding story, as well as my own story of how my early days as a Rugby player, and my background and education in computers and technology, helped to prepare me for a career in End User Computing (EUC) that has spanned several decades and has taken me around the globe, working for key industry players including Citrix, Microsoft and now, Tehama, which I joined in July 2021.
In the episode, we talked about my partnership ethos, which ultimately centers on leveraging relationships with both vendors and channel partners to enable the customer with a complete solution. I also shared some insights on the role that alliances play in building a strong and thriving EUC ecosystem. For me, two key areas that are integral to forming these partnerships and building trust are the ability to listen and show empathy.
Another important topic Ayres and I discussed is the accelerated adoption of Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is an area where both IGEL and Tehama have played a role in providing solutions that enable secure productivity and collaboration in today’s hybrid and work-from-anywhere (WFx) environments.
One of the final key take-aways from this episode of The Attic is my enthusiasm for the future of EUC. I told viewers that I’m very much looking forward to continuing to expand my role within Tehama, where I am hard at work building alliances and partnerships for the company with key industry players including IGEL, Citrix, VMware as well as VARs, MSPs and solution providers, and also driving key initiatives around product and market development.
Tehama was a sponsor of the DISRUPT Unite Roadshow event in Charlotte, North Carolina where I presented on “Exploring a better way of working: How Tehama + IGEL enable the fastest, easiest, and most secure way to deploy a hybrid workforce and save you money.” To view the presentation, click here.
